Tesla’s Roadster Won’t Go Into Production Until 2022

We haven’t heard much about Tesla since it launched its sleek and wildly fast next-gen Roadster supercar EV back in 2017. Recently, Elon Musk confirmed that it will delay the Roadster production by a good two years over the original date and won’t set to start until next year (2022).

According to Musk engineering of the project was finished this year. The Trimotor drive system and the battery work which is advanced are the keys for the predicted acceleration of 0-60 MPH within 1.9 seconds, the top speed of 250MPH, and the 600-mile range of Roadstar. The initial cost of Roadster at its launch was $200,000 and the interested community was given the opportunity to make a reservation for $50,000. The price of the “Founder’s Edition” model was quoted at $250,000.  Musk revealed Tesla’s plan to release the candidate model during this year. So we might see a final model of it within this year. With that, we might also get to know the price and other features as well.

If you want to witness a similar performance, you might not have to wait for that long because the Tesla version of the 1,100 horsepower Model S Plaid+ edition is expected to hit the market within this year. Its price will be $132,990. The vehicle is capable of shooting from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 2 seconds. The maximum speed would be 200 MPH and it is expected to run 520 miles when charged once. This performance is noteworthy for a four-door sedan.

This is not the first time Tesla has postponed its date of production. Model 3 saloon was delayed due to various setbacks. The launch of the Semi-lorry was planned in 2019 but it did not work out as well.

Just like Tesla’s other models Roadster would also come to the market with driving technologies that are autonomous.
